Come one, come all to the very first blog post on our snazzy new website! This is the newsletter we sent out last week to our subscribers and we’d like to make them a regular blog post as well. It’s a new quarter, a new season, and we’ve got a few important things to let you know as well as a few you’ll be interested in, of course. Plus a little heartfelt note from our stellar massage therapist, Jo.

So read on! Find out about our changes to our billing (from July 1st) and what’s happening this quarter. If you’d like to receive email updates from Sunshine Coast Allied Health, make sure you let us know! You can contact us via our website or private messaging on Facebook, along with a good old-fashioned phone call on 5438 1079.

A Message From Jo

Wow, what an epic start to 2020! I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of my wonderful clients for all the kind words and support over the last few months. It means so much as a small business to have you all back and taking care of yourselves. You all deserve it!

And to new clients, I wish you a warm welcome. I look forward to treating you and getting to know your body in order to get you back on track to being pain free.

~ Jo, Remedial Massage Therapist

Changes to Billing

We all know that times have been difficult recently and for your continued support, we cannot thank you enough. A business is nothing without the community that supports them. That being said, the end of the financial year is fast approaching and with it, an increase in our rent. We’ve held off as long as we could and these changes still won’t happen until July 1st, but we wanted to give everybody a little heads up.

The changes are as follows:

Massage

There will be a $10 increase for all massage times up until 90 minutes. The new prices are:

  • 30 min – $55
  • 45 min – $70
  • 60 min – $85
  • 90 min – $120 (will remain the same, as mentioned)

Dietitian, Exercise Physiology, and Physiotherapy

These appointments will remain at $85 for an initial consultation and $65 for subsequent for all private clients. For those referred by their GP with a chronic disease management plan, the consultations will be $65 and after subtracting what Medicare will pay, clients will be out of pocket $11.20. Please note: this is at each clinicians discretion and all discussions of bulk billing must be conducted with with the clinician. The decision to be bulk billed or discounted will be made on a case-by-case basis and is dependant on personal circumstance.

We will, however, continue to bulk bill pensioners and HCC holders, those under the age of 16, DVA, and Workcover.

Group Classes

There will be a slight increase for group exercise classes. Each class will now be $15 or you can purchase a 10 visit class pass for $120.
